AWS A5.1 E7018-1H4R : IRMA SH-7018-1

Characteristics and Application

IRMA SH-7018-1 is a premium basic (low-hydrogen) electrode designed for welding carbon steels and low-alloy steels where high toughness at low temperatures, excellent crack resistance, and reliable mechanical properties are critical. The “-1” designation provides enhanced impact toughness up to – 50 deg C, making it suitable for applications requiring weld performance under dynamic or sub-zero service conditions. The H4R designation indicates: Diffusible hydrogen ≤ 4 ml/100 g of deposited weld metal
Excellent moisture resistance for shop and field conditions

Categories: ,
Application & Base materials
Structural fabrication, bridges, buildings, offshore and onshore structures, Pressure vessels, boilers, and piping (mild & low‑alloy steels), Shipbuilding, heavy equipment, and general fabrication. IRMA SH-7018 is suitable for welding low carbon steels or mild steels, including but not limited to: (ASTM: A36, A283, A285, A569, A570); (JIS: SS400, SPHC, SPCC, S20C); (DIN/EN: S235JR, S275JR, RSt37-2)
